Ann Donaldson
I first fell in love with Irish Wolfhounds after admiring one whilst on holiday in Wales. I decided to research the breed and was lucky enough to visit the Mochras kennels owned by Elizabeth Thornton, as well as Diane and Dennis Redfern’s Rainster home. I was offered my first puppy in 1986 from Elizabeth Thornton. From then on I have always been privileged to share my life with this wonderful breed.
My hounds are part of the family as pets but I also enjoy the chance to show them when I have the opportunity to do so. They always accompany us on annual holidays and enjoy their regular day outings.
I am part of the Irish Wolfhound Society committee and have the role of Show Secretary. I have been judging lightly for several years now and I am currently on the B list and I am keen to continue advancing my knowledge in this area.
I hope to always be able to support the Health Group in all its endeavours as it is so important to have this information available for people to use, this includes the heart screening scheme which is so beneficial to wolfhound owners.
